Biomedical Engineering:It is the subsidiary branch of engineering, which is very vast and hence there large number of Job opportunities for a Biomedical Engineer. A biomedical engineer has to work With Doctors. In most cases a biomedical engineer works in a Hospital. But BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING IN INDIA has Completely different Scenarios Compared to developed Nations Like US,Germany,Denmark,Canada etc.
In India, Most Biomedical Engineers are not well Paid, even Under paid but definitely, there is always requirement of biomedical,so they dont remain atleast Unemployed.
AT HOSPITAL (Multi-speciality):-
Salary :-12000rs -15000rs (For Fresher)
Hospital Biomedical Manager :- 25000rs-35000rs,
But ,it requires Experience also of around (2-5yrs).
TIER 3: 3rd Grade Small Companies =Lowest paying
SALARY :- 8000rs-12000 For Fresher in Distributor Based Companies.
Lot of Travelling to Multiple location,Rough Work, less Knowledgeable,Only Small Break down ,Troubleshoots.
Growth is very less.
Most biomedical engineers have to work in such low paying companies at initial stage.
Tier 1:-Original Manufacturing COMPANIES (OEM):-
Highest Paying Companies for Biomedical engineers are the Multinational Companies like :-
GE HealthCare ( Origin :-US)
Siemens (Origin :-Germany)
Drager (Germany)
Freshnius (Germany)
Medtronic (US)
Abbott (US)
BAXTER (US)
St. Jude Medical now part of (Abbott)
Philips (Netherland)
Nihon Kohden (Japan)
Johnson & Johnson (US)
Boston Scientific (US)
Smith & Nephew (UK)
Olympus (Japan)
Stryker (US)

Indian Companies : Original Manufacturing :-
Skanray (India) Allenger (INDIA)
Phoenix Medical (INDIA)

Stents: Abbott (Medtronic and Boston Scientific as well, J&J quit the market a few years ago)

Application Engineers :- gets more salary like 28000rs-35000rs for fresher or 1yr Experience.

Engineers working in such multi-national Companies gets Job Satisfaction,Time to time Increment ,Great Job oppurtinities to learn,to interact with Surgeons,Doctors and Hospital Staff .
They get to learn Continously new things, development,Seminars,Conferences etc.
For engineers working in MNC for more than 5 yrs
Their Salary Increments are likely :-60,000rs-80,000rs
For Service Engineers itself.
Note :- In Biomedical in India,Service Engineers are less paid .
But,MNC takes care of Service engineers very well atleast.
Again, Application Engineers get Good Salary Compared to Service Engineers.
Sales Representative in MNCs having :-5yrs-8yrs
can make around 12-15lpm (lac per annum).
Also, even In short Span,If one gets to higher positions like Area Sales Manager,Zonal Manager etc, Can make Upto Average IITian Package like 12-35 LPM (lac per annum).
But, Most Biomedical Fresher have to Struggle a lot and it takes years to get into Such MNC. But yes, There examples of Freshers getting directly into MNCs like Nihon kohden,Freshnius etc they do offer 23000rs on hand Salary.
1-2yrs helps u to get in MNC more likely.
Also IITs,NITs etc colleges Offer Good Campus Placements where Companies like GE Healthcare,Siemens,Philips etc Recruits Fresher from Nit,IIT etc with Good package.
But, other than IIT,NITs there are very less even state goverment Colleges and Private colleges which provides even any kind of good placements.
Most Goverment Colleges even they dont know what actually biomedical engineers are and they dont invite Good Companies which can Train them and offer pretty decent Packages.
I am here sharing one example of Goverment College in Gujarat for Biomedical Placement.
Example :- L.D Engineering College ,Ahmedabad & Goverment Engineering College,Gandhinagar Both are state Goverment colleges having Biomedical deparment and they invited Distributor based company which offering Rs9000 per month, most of the time they dont invite Biomedical companies ,they Offfield companies which have nothing to do with Biomedical. They also Invited Medical billings Meditab which was offering rs19,500 per month but it has nothing related to do With Biomedical Field,Because the work in Call center based companies can any Graduate can do ,so why need of Biomedical degreee and the growth is not there even.
The Bottom line is even University, Goverment Colleges doesnt know what biomedical and What scope is there.
Biomedical is Developing In India, And the Real Value of Biomedical engineers is only in Big Multinational Companies, they pay well, Train them and Acknowledge their Talent.
Tier 2 Companies :-
Company which are not manufacturing but manufacturing Reagents Some not all.
AGD Biomedical

After getting Field Experience of 2-3 yrs, there are good chances of Getting Good salary by leaving and joining new companies or even joining these companies also if u have worked in other companies of same grade.
Refurbinish Equipments Company like Medinnova,Krishpa,Ks biomed.

Demand
1. Cities :- Tier 1 City like Bengaluru,Hyderabad,Mumbai,Chennai etc. have Comapanies offering
almost 20,000rs to 24,000rs per month ,even in hospital a biomedical engineer can get upto 22,000rs
.But, these are Expensive cities, so living expense, food, transportation, accomodation is also high,But Growth Opportunity is very Good.
2.Companies :-
Tier 1 :- Original Manufacturing companies , i.e In india mostly Foreign Multi-nationals like GE Health care,Drager,Philips,Medtronic Pays Highest.
